My Story…

Growing up on a farm my childhood days were carefree exploring wide open spaces, playing with cousins and neighbors and of course, animals, specifically cows and cats.  I grew to appreciate the value of hard work, strength of family, and importance of community.  Throughout my life I have always been involved in athletics, volleyball, basketball, running, and yoga, and have come to appreciate the importance of physical fitness.

I found a home with the Clinix Team in March of 2012.  A native of Minnesota, I received my undergraduate degree at Minnesota State University Moorhead.  I graduated from the Red Rocks Community College Physician Assistant Program and earned a Masters of Medical Science Degree from St. Francis University with emphasis in Primary Care.

Before making the decision to pursue medicine, I worked in inpatient mental health for 4 years.  I was blessed to have mentors in the hospital providing the encouragement I needed to further my education and personal development. During this time, a severe illness of my grandfather greatly impacted me and this also gave me direction to choose a career in medicine.

I feel very gratified working in Primary Care many years later.  I truly enjoy all aspects of Family Medicine, especially Behavioral Medicine, Chronic Disease Management and Preventive Care and working with all ages.  I practice traditional medicine, however, I believe that alternative therapies are also appropriate options when they align with patient preferences.  I do my best to ensure education and shared decision making is part of heath care plans with my patients.

I am happily married and am a busy mother of 2 young children.  I like to spend quality time with my wonderful family, traveling, cooking, playing piano, bicycling, going on walks, exercising and enjoying the beautiful Colorado outdoors.
